Saturday Adventures

My Saturday was super packed and busy but it was a very productive fun day at the same time!

Background:
So since my roommate has been awesome and pretty much lives with her boyfriend, she has slowly taken things from our apartment and because in the end of May I will be moving to my own apartment I am need of new furniture.  After college you obtain things from others, or get things as you need them.  Now that I will be living by myself I think I need a couch and a coffee table :) Among other things...

The Idea:
Looking on Craigslist, going to garage sales, and thrift stores.  So I planned my route for this last Saturday morning and where I would be going looking for things. Unfortunately although I was the early-bird I did not get the couch and TV I wanted due to people snagging them the day before when they were setting up for the garage sale. But I did find some nifty things that I need all for under 20dollars.

I went to take pictures of the items but my camera batteries died halfway through....
-A green shower curtain ($3)! It is perfect and I have been looking for one for a few months now...
-A jewelry box clock ($2) I have wanted one but couldn't bring myself to buy one at a store for $15
10 movies ($1 each)! Great start to my movie collection!
This awesome lamp for $1
$1 each for these pictures that match my living room decor already
AND I get to go grab a few end tables after work for $5
(I hope they look like they do in the picture)
Maybe I can get the coffee table from Target that I really want...it would match these....

All in all I think I have been pretty lucky considering it was the first time really going and looking....

Now I just need someone to go with me (minus the next few weeks of Easter Egg Hunt craziness and all the planning and prep that needs to get done) because it makes it more fun.

I will post more pictures when I get batteries for my lovely camera...and keep you updated as my furniture and new apartment comes together over the next 2months :)

  1. Hooray...a new blog to read! :-) Now I can really stalk you! I added your blog to my google reader subscriptions. No, but seriously, I know it's got depth and since we don't often get to have deep conversations this will be good. And it's so pretty! I've found blogging to be a great way to reflect, connect and record our family happenings. I hope you have fun with it. Love you, friend!
